About The Position
Under direct and frequent supervision, the surgical technician is responsible for the preparation of the operating room and instruments for assigned surgical cases. This role involves anticipating the needs of the doctor before and during the procedure, assisting in the clean-up of the room and instruments after the procedure, and taking surgery call. The technician will perform job duties for Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Clinical knowledge of sterile techniques and aseptics.
- Ability to actively use this knowledge before and during the surgical procedure.
- BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.
- Must obtain CST after qualifications have been met.
Nice To Haves
- One-two years scrubbing experience preferred.
- CST Preferred.
