DISC Surgery Center is seeking a Full-Time Surgical Technologist for our Carlsbad location. This position will have a Monday - Friday schedule and assist with orthopedic, spinal and pain management procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technician Program.
- 2 years plus of working experience as a Surgical Tech
- Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment or current BCLS certification
Responsibilities
- Assists with the preparation of the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Assist with skin preparations and with draping of patients
- Assists with care, preparation, maintenance, and after-care of sterile and un-sterile supplies and equipment.
- Removes drapes at the end of the procedure, cleanses the patients of prep solution, and applies dressing as needed.
- Clean and disinfect instruments and equipment after use
- Participate in sponge, instrument, and needle count with the circulating nurse.
- Assists with stocking, replenishing, and preparation of supplies.
- Checks updated schedule every morning and prepares room supplies and equipment.
- Back up materials manager in placing orders for supplies and implants.
