About The Position

Join our surgical services team at Coulee Medical Center and experience all rural healthcare has to offer! We are seeking a Surgical Technologist for per diem coverage; primarily weekend on-call, with occasional weekday needs. Typical cases involve obstetric and occasional general surgeries, with complex opportunities. The per diem Surgical Technologist assists the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. This position will monitor PAR levels of all surgical instruments and supplies, properly clean operating rooms following procedures, as well as clean and sterilize all surgical instruments. The per diem position is expected to also participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology preferred OR on the job training may be provided at Coulee Medical Center for appropriate candidate
  • Must be registered through Washington State
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean
  • Completes annual education requirements
  • Maintains regulatory requirements
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time
  • Wears identification while on on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly
  • Completes department in-services and returns in a timely fashion
  • Attends annual review and department trainings/in-services
  • Attends staff meetings annually, reads all monthly staff meeting minutes
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
  • Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
  • Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital, as well as the focus statement of the department
