About The Position

Fort HealthCare is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join their Perioperative Services team. This position can be full-time or part-time, with a call response time of 30 minutes. The shift is typically 6:30 AM to 3:15 PM, up to 80 hours per bi-weekly pay period, and includes call duties. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
1-2 years experience as Surg Tech
BLS
Certified Surgical Technologist certification within two years of hire

Responsibilities

Organizes surgical technical activity in a logical sequence to promote efficiency in a cost-effective manner.
Maintains the sterile field at all times during the handling of supplies and equipment necessary for the operative procedure.
Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and has an understanding of the procedure being performed.
Demonstrates safety measures at all times by adhering to established standards of practice for aseptic practice, worker and patient safety, as well as equipment and product safety.
Assists with disinfection and sterilization processes.
Assists with case and room turnover to maximize department efficiency and minimize waste/delay.
Participates actively in sound supply chain management to assure inventory control and resource utilization.
