About The Position

The Harborview Operating Rooms have multiple outstanding opportunities for Surgical Technologists. This position is in a technological, fast-paced, and exciting department where you will utilize knowledge of operations of individual pieces of equipment and skillfully maintain instruments and supplies to meet the demands of the department. You will work with world-renowned surgeons and technologically advanced tools on the cutting edge for many types of procedures. The teamwork among employees makes the department an enjoyable and exciting place to work. Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist.

Requirements

Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.
Registered by the State of Washington as a Surgical Technologist, or licensed in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse or Physician.

Responsibilities

Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room
