About The Position

The Surgical Technologist performs as a member of the surgical team, providing technical patient care and hands-on expertise in the handling of surgical instruments and equipment during routine and emergency cases. They assemble and prepare equipment, instruments, and supplies for all specialties using surgeon preference cards as a reference. The role involves setting up and maintaining a sterile field while anticipating and responding to the surgeon’s intra-operative needs, functioning as a second assistant during surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist must understand and maintain current knowledge and practice of hospital policies and procedures. Requirements

Graduate of an approved one-year or two-year surgical technologist program.
Knowledgeable in aseptic technique, scrub skills, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
Knowledgeable and purpose of correct medications and solutions used on the surgical field.
6 months of previous surgical tech experience.
Certified Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

Performs as a member of surgical team providing technical patient care and hands-on expertise in the handling of surgical instruments and equipment during routine and emergency cases.

Sets up and maintains sterile field while anticipating and responding to the surgeon’s intra-operative needs.
