Sanford Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for its Family Birth Center. Surgical technologists are an integral part of the medical team providing surgical care to patients. The Family Birth Center performs C-sections, hysterectomies, D&Cs, and cerclage placement and removal, and assists with vaginal deliveries. The technologist assists surgeons during procedures by preparing and organizing operating room instruments and supplies and anticipating the surgeon’s needs. The schedule is 36 hours per week, with a mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts. The schedule rotates through day and night blocks and is set six weeks at a time. The position covers every third weekend and every other holiday; there is no on-call requirement. Technologists typically work with another surgical technologist on shift, with one serving as scrub tech and the other as first assist. With experience, there is an opportunity to advance first-assist skills with the provider.
