Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Successful completion of a surgical technologist training program is required.
  • Eighteen (18) months of scrub tech experience in an acute care operating room may substitute for the training program requirement.
  • Two (2) years of acute surgical technologist experience is required.
  • One (1) year of the experience must include at least two (2) specialty areas (i.e., orthopedics, neurosurgery, robotics, etc.).
  • Required to have and maintain BLS through American Heart Association.
  • Cannot hold a concurrent position at a Trinity Health facility.
  • Ability to complete the orientation and training.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification issued through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is preferred.
