Shriners Spokane is looking for a full time Surgical Technologist to join the team. The Surgical Technologist assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Assists in preparation of surgical services to ensure suite set up is appropriate. The pay range for this position is $29.79-$44.69/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. NO Nights, NO Weekends, Minimal Call, Minimal Holiday Call

Requirements

  • Surgical Technologist License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Surgical Technologist Certification (CST)
  • 1 year experience with scrub skills

Responsibilities

  • Competency to create and maintain a sterile field, providing equipment and supplies, performing sponge, sharps and instruments counts.
  • Providing visualization of operative site.
  • Independently pulls cases utilizing preference sheets and OR special equipment lists.
  • Updates, reviews lists making changes as necessary. Reviews cases, and equipment prior to start of case.
  • Is scrubbed in and has equipment prior to patient arriving into the OR suite
  • Verifying efficacy of equipment, operating, maintaining, verifying, and recording efficacy of equipment
  • Determines and documents efficacy of equipment. Records reflect accurate description of operations, sterilization, and use of equipment
  • Familiar with proper assembly, operation, and disassembly of all OR equipment and attends in-service on new equipment
  • Attends in-service on new equipment, completes competency evaluation successful in operation and maintaining equipment used within the department
