About The Position

This position offers a sign-on bonus for eligible new hires! The Surgical Technologist performs direct and indirect technical tasks for patients before, during, and after surgical interventions. This role is crucial in assisting with the setup of the surgical operating suite, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available. The technologist must utilize proper aseptic techniques and standard precautions, adhering to policies for medication and specimen handling. They will also assist with preparing, positioning, and draping patients, and participate in the surgical pause to confirm the correct patient and surgical site. A key responsibility includes understanding, anticipating, and adapting to surgeon preferences and patient care variables, contributing to the update of surgeon preference materials. The role also involves performing sponge, needle, and instrument counts, and caring for and utilizing resources to promote a cost-effective and efficient environment for patients. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Minimum Surgical Technologist (ST) hired after 12/29/2020 require one of the following: Accredited Surgical Technologist program completion and nationally recognized certification (CST, TS-C) within 6 months of hire. Military programs accepted.
  • Pre-existing Employment: Employment as a surgical technologist by this facility before 12/29/2020, or at another facility within the two years prior to 12/29/2020.
  • CPR – American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
