About The Position

A clinically competent surgical technologist, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of the patient during the intraoperative period. Included within this assignment is the responsibility for assisting with preparation of surgical patient by performance of routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the hospital.

Requirements

• Current CST license
• BLS certification
• High School graduate
• Graduate of an accredited school or Surgical Technology program
• Minimum of one year current operating room experience (student experience allowed)
• Ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs and care for all patient populations (i.e. neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, geriatrics)
• Knowledge and understanding of basic principles of asepsis
• Knowledge and understanding of simple biology
• Leadership qualities
• Ability to work independently
• Effective communication skills
• Organizational skills
