About The Position
Lexington Medical Center is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room. This position is Monday-Friday with call responsibilities and offers benefits eligibility. The role involves ensuring quality patient care, safety, and advocacy under the supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include managing instruments, equipment, and supplies, effective communication with the team and patients, taking initiative for professional growth, and demonstrating cost containment. The work environment may involve exposure to various hazards and requires specific protective equipment. Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, finger/hand dexterity, talking, hearing, and seeing, with varying percentages of time spent on each. Lifting up to 100 lbs. may be required.
Requirements
- Graduation from a Surgical Technology program.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations

Responsibilities
- Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
- Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
- Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients.
- Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
- Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
