About The Position
Utilizes the principles and practices of surgical asepsis in the preparation of surgical instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile field and passing instruments to surgeons within the sterile field. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon by demonstrating knowledge of surgical procedures and the anatomy and physiology of the human body.
Requirements
- Graduation from a certified surgical technologist program
- Surgical Technologist Certification within six months of employment
Responsibilities
- Preparation of surgical instruments and supplies
- Maintaining a sterile field
- Passing instruments to surgeons within the sterile field
- Anticipating the needs of the surgeon by demonstrating knowledge of surgical procedures and the anatomy and physiology of the human body
