About The Position

As a member of the healthcare team, collaborates with the surgical team to provide care for patients, ensuring that the goals of the patients are met and the mission of the hospital is carried out. This is an on-site position at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, with a Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) of 0.900000, standard hours of 36.00 per week. The shift is Shift 1, specifically for Orthopedics & Plastics, involving rotating 3x12 hour shifts from 06:30 to 19:00. This role requires on-call duties, and working holidays and weekends.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of Surgical experience is required. Experience can come in any combination in a role as a Surgical Technologist or Surgical Technician.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Post high school education, certification or diploma required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Surgical Technologist Level 3 staff, or above, with a date of hire or adjusted date of hire prior to 8/1/2020 are not required to be certified, as long as they meet the criteria in the job description.
