The School of Health Sciences at Madison College is hiring a full-time Surgical Technologist Instructor. Experienced Certified Surgical Technologists who are interested in transitioning from clinical practice into teaching are encouraged to apply. Full-time faculty work a nine-month contract for the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters), and teaching summer courses, if available, is optional, with additional pay. This position is responsible for teaching Surgical Technology at the college level. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction using established curriculum and course materials, adapting and enhancing instructional strategies to support student learning, utilizing effective teaching technologies and learning environments, assessing student progress, advising students, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of curriculum and instruction. Faculty also participate in college service activities at the department, school, and college levels. A faculty member in this position may teach any of the core Surgical Technology courses listed under the associate’s degree. Other teaching opportunities may be assigned depending on departmental needs. Most Surgical Technology courses are offered in person during the day with some online offerings. This position reports to the Dean of the School of Health Sciences.
