About The Position

As a Surgical Technologist you are responsible for preparing the operating room for the surgical procedure including the instruments, equipment, and supplies. Maintains the sterile field during the surgical procedure. Serves as first scrub, with competent status, all surgical procedures, and maintains proficiency in one and expert status in more advanced/complex procedures. Serves as a preceptor, leader, and educator to all surgical personnel and visitors. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision, values, and cultural beliefs of MercyOne.

Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years surgical tech experience in multi-specialty/complex cases.
Completion of an accredited surgical technology program, surgical technologist apprenticeship, or approved military training program; or graduation from an LPN program with surgical experience; or equivalent experience demonstrating surgical competency.
Certified Surgical Technologist certification or TS-C required.
LPN license required if graduate of LPN program.
Maintains proficiency in one or more advanced/complex cases.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
