About The Position

The Surgical Technologist II at NorthBay Health is responsible for delivering patient care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse. This role primarily functions as the “scrub person” in the surgical suite and other clinical areas. The Surgical Technologist II also serves as a specialized resource to the nursing department and Patient Care Services Division, acting as a service lead to provide education, case consultation, or other program services on an ongoing basis. The technologist may be assigned other functions as permitted by hospital policy. As a service lead for a specialty surgical service, the Surgical Technologist II works with the Clinical Nurse service lead to ensure updated preference cards, acts as a liaison between the surgeon and the OR, manages and maintains service-specific supplies, and provides educational in-services on new service supplies and equipment. Responsibilities

  • Delivery of patient care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse.

  • Provide specialized resources to the nursing department and Patient Care Services Division through their role as a service lead providing education, case consultation or other program services on an ongoing basis.
  • Work as a service lead for a specialty surgical service.
  • Work with the Clinical Nurse service lead to ensure updated Preference Cards.
  • Work as a liaison between the surgeon and the OR.
