Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or completion of a surgical technician program is required.
- Five (5) years of experience as a surgical technician in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center is required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the surgical staff and nursing personnel in the perioperative care of the patient in the operating room and providing technical support to the surgical team.
- Provide inventory control and management and administrative duties in the absence of the administrative assistant.
- Provides Surgical Technical Support to the surgical team.
- Scrubs for assigned procedures, assisting the surgeon during the procedure.
- Prepares the operating room for the surgical procedure.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
