About The Position

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the OR and are relied upon for their professional judgement and critical thinking skills. We are seeking candidates who are able to work full time day/evening rotation Monday through Friday plus call with peers for nights, weekends & holidays. Highland has a rich history of providing compassionate, personalized patient care. A Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who works with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care. The Surgical Technologist has specific responsibilities before, during and after surgery to assure patient safety and enhance positive outcomes.

Requirements

• Fulfills the educational requirements for completion of a nationally and NYS accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
• Holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)) or is otherwise qualified per the NYS Public Health Law.
• American Heart Association BLS CPR Certification required.
• Good communication skills.
• Positive attitude.
• Team-player.
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful and/or emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree preferred.
• Aseptic Technique and in-depth knowledge of surgical equipment highly desirable.
