About The Position

Southcoast Health is a not-for-profit, charitable, health system with multiple hospitals, clinics and facilities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They are searching for a talented Surgical Technologist I. This position offers a $7,500 new hire sign-on bonus. The hours are 40hrs, with a Day/Evening shift from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, including weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation. The location is Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA.

Requirements

Completion of 4 years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training.
Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program.
Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologist within 12 months of graduation from program or within 6 months of hire if greater than 12 months from graduation.
Certification in Basic Life Support is required.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year of related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to the surgical team during the intra-operative phase.
Provide an aseptic, safe, appropriately equipped and functional surgical environment.
Responsible for OR preparation, instrument supply and assembly, maintenance of sterile fields, hands off instruments and initiation of counts throughout procedures.
Perform Surgical Technologist duties including on-call duties as need or required.
