About The Position

The Obstetric (OB) Surgical Technologist provides patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse. This role involves preparing the operating room/delivery room, ensuring readiness for the patient with attention to sterile technique. The Surgical Tech demonstrates responsibility and accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments according to policies and procedures. They perform as a primary scrub tech, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures and deliveries while applying principles of sterile technique. Additional patient care assigned by the RN will be performed. The role contributes to expected patient outcomes by adhering to policies, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies. On-call obligations with a 30-minute response time are also required.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

One year of Labor and Delivery Surgical Tech experience
Three years of Operating Room experience
