About The Position

Performs direct and indirect technical tasks for patients before, during, and after surgical interventions.

Requirements

• One year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• 3 years surgical scrub specialty experience

Responsibilities

• Initiates changes to physician preference list and assures that team members are aware of changes.
• Maintains the inventory for the service area assigned.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument count.
• Orients new team members to assigned service area. Directs the work of lower level surgical technicians.
• Assists in setting up the surgical operating suite with appropriate instruments and supplies.
• Scrubs in prescribed manner, hands physician instruments required during surgery.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
