About The Position

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist 3 for their Operating Room. This is a full-time position with a shift of Day/Night, 40 hours per week, for experienced STs in Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, and Robotics. The role involves working either two 8-hour shifts (7 am-3 pm) or two 12-hour shifts (7 am-7 pm). A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are eligible for this position. Requirements

• High School or GED
• Two (2) years’ Surgical Technologist experience.
• Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) via NCCT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.

Nice To Haves

• Surgical Technologist experience with (Ortho, Trauma, Neuro, Robotics, Vascular, Thoracic)

Responsibilities

• Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate preventative and corrective actions.
• Anticipates the need for unscheduled procedures or unanticipated turn of events during a surgical procedure.
• Demonstrates superior knowledge in stressful and emergency situations.
• Assists with the flow of the daily operating room schedule by readily accepting assignments/reassignments.
• Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to professional and leadership responsibilities.
• Accepts responsibility for judgments and actions.
• Supports and participates in departmental goals, educational programs, and QI process.
• Documents evidence of at least 40 hours of self-development activities with a minimum of 12 formal contact hours.
