Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist 1 to join the OR team. This role will be Full-time, 4-10 hour shifts with various days. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start.
Registered Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist required upon start

Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts.
Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure.
Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of the first scrub on all basic surgical cases.
Selects proper sterilization method of instruments/equipment; sterilizes before procedures, as necessary, and verifies instruments as sterile.
Demonstrates the application of the principles of aseptic technique.
Prepares the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures based on the scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
