About The Position
This is a full-time position for a Surgical Technician, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role involves direct assistance in surgical procedures, ensuring the availability and functionality of necessary equipment, and effective communication with the surgical team. The position also includes participation in an on-call rotation for trauma and after-hours cases.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
Nice To Haves
- Orthopedic surgical experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Participate in patient positioning and surgical site verification
- Assist with prepping and draping the surgical field
- Ensure all instruments, implants, and equipment are available and functioning
- Assist with controlling bleeding using cautery, clamps, or ties
- Assist with deep and superficial wound closure
- Perform knot tying, running sutures, or staple application as appropriate
- Pass instruments efficiently and accurately
- Assist with drilling, reaming, suctioning, irrigation, and cutting sutures
- Assist with reduction, positioning, and implant support in orthopedic cases
- Communicate effectively with surgical team
- Participate in on-call rotation for trauma and after-hours cases
