About The Position

At Elliot Vascular Surgery, we provide comprehensive cardiovascular care to the community. Our group of experienced and talented cardiologists has been serving your needs for decades. The comprehensive cardiovascular care we offer includes Consultative Cardiology, Invasive and Non-Invasive Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Vascular Disease Testing and Treatment, Pacemaker Implantation and Follow Up, Electrophysiology Testing, Defibrillator Implantation and Follow Up, Nuclear Cardiology, and In-Office Finger Stick Coumadin Testing. The Surgical Technician Ambulatory will perform a variety of duties which assist the surgeon in carrying out a safe surgical procedure with optimal results for the patient. They will function as an integral member of the Procedure Room team and contribute to maintaining a professional, respectful, and effective patient care and work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate OR student of an approved Surgical Technologist Program, or experience as a Surgical Technician required.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Surgical Technician Certification from the State of New Hampshire is required unless another current NH state license is held.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous operating room surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability and preparedness of supplies and equipment needed to support efficient and effective peri- and intraoperative processes.
  • Perform visit chart preparation activities based on the daily scheduled appointments, including diagnostic test results, emergency/urgent care reports, discharge summaries, and consult/PCP reports, ensuring they are in the medical record and accessible to the provider.
  • Anticipate care information to support the provider visit.
  • Obtain, document, and process specimens using the appropriate collection process and equipment.
  • Prepare the procedure room before the procedure.
  • Collaborate with specialty physicians to acquire new/special equipment for procedures.
  • Assist the proceduralist and other members of the procedure team throughout the surgical process to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
  • Verify correct patient/correct procedure, assist with patient transfers, prep, and drape the patient, position patient to prevent injury, and accurately anticipate need for instrumentation and pass instruments to the proceduralist.
  • Maintain strict sterile technique during procedure.
  • Ensure a professional, respectful, and effective patient care and working environment through consistent use of appropriate interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
