Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; Graduate of a surgical technology program preferred.
Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.
None required; BCLS preferred.

Nice To Haves

Graduate of a surgical technology program preferred.
BCLS preferred.

Responsibilities

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
Reports to the Director of Surgery/OR.
Prepares the surgical suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensures equipment and instruments are in good working order.
Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
Passes instruments to physicians during surgery and continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies.
Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
