About The Position

The Surgical Technician, PT position in the Surgery Room (Department 37703) is a part-time role with PRN hours. The pay range is $20.15 - $30.25 per hour. This role requires graduation from a Surgical Technology program and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Certification in a specialty area is preferred. The essential functions include ensuring quality patient care, safety, and advocacy under the supervision of an RN, managing instruments, equipment, and supplies, communicating effectively with the team and patients, taking initiative for professional growth, and demonstrating cost containment activities.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
  • Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients.
  • Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
