About The Position

The Surgical Technician functions as the scrub technologist in the surgical suite and other clinical areas. The role includes selecting and setting up the sterile table with instruments, supplies, and equipment; passing instruments to the surgeon during procedures; maintaining sterile technique; and caring for instruments after procedures. Surgical Technicians may also be assigned to Case Carts, the Turnover Team, or Service Line roles. Under RN supervision, the Surgical Technician may assist with assigned circulating duties and perform the defined responsibilities of a surgical tech, case cart surgical tech, or turnover team member to support efficient patient flow through the operating room experience. This is a full-time, day-shift position scheduled for 40 hours per week at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital.

Requirements

• Graduate of a course in surgical technology.
• Washington Surgical Technologist Registration upon hire.
• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Current experience as a registered Surgical Technologist; recent completion of an accredited surgical technologist program may be considered as current experience.

• Two years of operating room experience.

Responsibilities
