About The Position

We are growing and looking for a PRN Surgical Technician to join our team. This role involves preparing and maintaining operating rooms, assisting nurses and physicians during surgical procedures, positioning patients, monitoring supply levels, and ensuring the turnover and sterilization of operating rooms between cases. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing an excellent patient experience, be flexible and adaptable, and willing to continue learning and improving their skills.

Requirements

Completed an approved school of Surgical Technology.
In lieu of the educational experience, management will consider an Ophthalmic Assistant certification and an Ophthalmic Surgical Assisting certification.
Previous surgical technician experience

Responsibilities

Preparing, organizing, and maintaining operating rooms in accordance with federal, state, accreditation standards and facility best practices.
Assisting the nurses and physicians during surgical procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments seamlessly.
Helping with comfortably positioning patients for surgery and maintaining a calm, reassuring atmosphere in the operating room.
Monitoring supply levels, assisting with restocking of surgical suites, and reporting equipment maintenance needs promptly.
Turning over operating rooms between cases, ensuring that sterilization is maintained for patient safety.
Assisting in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established federal, state, and accreditation standards and center policies and procedures.
Preparing equipment and aiding surgeon during treatment and examination of patients.
