About The Position

As our Surgical Tech at CHI Williston Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. We can’t operate without you. The operating room (OR) runs as a team; every person on the team has an important role that directly impacts the patient. Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist Program
• Certified First Assistant - Certified Surgical Technologists (CST/CSFA)
• Unlicensed Assistive Person: ND (UAP:ND)
• Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)

Responsibilities

• Set up procedure rooms with all necessary instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
• Demonstrate mastery of sterile technique, sterilization processes, sterilization processes, environmental controls, and instrument decontamination.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field, ensuring all team members adhere to sterile environment protocols.
• Assist surgeons by providing visualization of the surgical wound, aiding with wound closure, and applying sterile dressings.
• Apply your knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures, and advance your understanding of instrumentation across various surgical services.
• Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to established procedures.
