We are hiring for a Surgical Technician position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska! Position is full time, 1.0 FTE, Variable Shift, 40 hours per week. $10,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment. Works with surgeons, Anesthesiologists, RN's, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care during surgery. Handles Instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure, anticipates the needs of the surgeon in providing these, and maintains a sterile environment. Requirements

  • Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAAHEP) or other program accredited by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program.
  • National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting upon hire or National Tech in Surgery - Certified - National Center for Competency Testing upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • 1 year of Operating Room experience for candidates who have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology Program or have completed other accredited programs by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program.
  • Candidates with equivalent other or at least six months of on the job clinical training must have minimum one year operating room experience scrubbing on surgical procedures.
  • Experience scrubbing independently in at least three surgical specialties; e.g. general surgery, orthopedics, urology, cardiac/vascular, ENT, ophalmology, neurosurgery, etc.
