About The Position

We are seeking to fill the role of a full-time Surgical Technician who will be performing technical duties relative to assisting physicians with the instrumentation of surgical intervention. Hours: Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm, and 2 weekends per month. Holiday rotation is required. Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of operating room experience required.
  • Graduate of approved Operating Room Technical School - CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Performing technical duties relative to assisting physicians with the instrumentation of surgical intervention.
  • Monitoring PAR levels of all surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing all surgical instruments.
  • Participate in staff meetings and performance improvement activities, working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in the Facility.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge of the principle of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Facility’s policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of instruments and surgical techniques; instrument and needle counts; isolation techniques and terminal cleaning of surgical instruments and rooms.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge of specific technical surgical skills.
  • Functions within the position description and within the scope of employee/patient relationship.
  • Participates in opportunities of continuing education.
  • Demonstrates the ability to utilize recognized channels of communication.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, coworkers, and other health team members.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
