Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist
- Scrub Tech: 1 year
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with ophthalmology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance to the physician during the surgical case, including gathering and preparing supplies/equipment for case.
- Ensures aseptic and sterile technique throughout procedure.
- Maintains cleanliness of room for turnover between cases.
- Identifies instruments with damaged or improper function, and notifies Safety Officer of needed replacement/repair.
- Assist physician by passing instruments during the surgical case.
- Responsible for gathering and preparing supplies/equipment for surgical cases.
- Assist Materials Manager and Clinical Manager in maintaining adequate level of supplies and instruments for use by the Center.
- Adheres to established Center safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
- Prepares OR suites and equipment prior to procedures according to Facilities policies and specific physicians.
