About The Position

This is a 13-week contract assignment for an experienced Operating Room Scrub Tech in Hilo, Hawaii. The role requires a skilled surgical technologist capable of independently scrubbing a wide variety of surgical procedures in a fast-paced and highly efficient operating room environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical knowledge, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams while maintaining exceptional patient care and surgical support standards. The facility is a busy and efficient surgical facility serving the East Region of Hawaii, with outpatient GI labs and multiple simultaneously running procedure rooms, offering exposure to a wide variety of surgical cases in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent scrub experience in a hospital operating room setting
• Current BLS certification required
• Active Hawaii State License required by assignment start date (Candidates without a Hawaii license must apply immediately upon offer acceptance)
• Ability to take call with a 20-minute response time

Nice To Haves

• Strong experience in Endoscopy procedures preferred

Responsibilities

• Independently scrub and assist with surgical procedures across multiple specialties
• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and instrumentation
• Assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff during procedures
• Support room turnover and cleaning between surgical cases
• Transport patients as needed
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards
• Participate in assigned call rotation schedules
• Accurately document procedures and maintain surgical supplies
