About The Position

Iowa Ortho is seeking a motivated Surgical Technician or RN who Scrubs to join their team at their state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center. This role involves caring for patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, and providing surgical support for all bone, muscle, joint, and spine cases. The environment is dynamic and team-oriented, focused on mutual support and improving patient outcomes. As a Center of Excellence, every team member strives to provide the highest quality medical care. This position offers daytime hours, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Completion of Surgical Technology program or past comparable job experience
RN license to practice in State of Iowa
Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the operating room
Knowledge of medical terminology related to surgical procedures
Ability to maintain a BLS qualification for Surg Tech, ACLS for RN
Ability to perform in situations requiring set limits, standards and strict adherence to established procedures and guidelines
Excellent data collection and documentation skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Ability to maintain composure in emergency, critical and/or uncommon situations

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in Orthopedics preferred

Responsibilities

Scrubs surgical cases.
Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up and functioning and seeks appropriate resource when necessary.
Assists in the circulating role under the direct supervision of RN.
Prepares for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia provider and other OR team members.
Provides a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to standards of aseptic technique and department policy.
Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, team members and ancillary staff.
Participates in the performance improvement process and adheres to regulatory compliance throughout the organization.
