About The Position
This is a Part Time Days position for a Surgical Tech in the Surgical Services department at UAB St. Vincent’s St. Clair. The role involves facilitating the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures, preparing the operating suite, assisting with patient preparation and positioning, maintaining instruments, and assisting surgeons with hemostasis.
Requirements
- High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

- Associate's degree or technical degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instruments counts throughout procedures.
- Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
