Summit Medical Center is looking for Surgical Technicians to join their Quality Care Team at their Edmond hospital. The position works Monday - Friday. The Surgical Technician provides direct and indirect services to the surgical patient under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs tasks necessary for the efficient and effective functioning of the operating room, as well as the delivery of quality of care. The staffing of Summit Medical Center is based on a teamwork concept, where employees may be cross-trained in other clinical areas and may be expected to perform duties other than their normal ones as staffing and patient needs change. The role involves maintaining established center/departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. It also includes maintaining department records, reports, and files, caring for department equipment and supplies, and participating in educational programs and in-service meetings. The Surgical Tech must maintain confidentiality of patient and center-related business, develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, visitors, and other center employees, and document concisely, precisely, and accurately on all records or documents as indicated by policy. Participation in Quality Assessment activities for the continuous improvement of patient care and the Center's business is also required.
