Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology with one (1) year Operating Room experience preferred.
• LPNs must have 1 year of surgical technology experience, acute care setting preferred.
• Current Louisiana LPN license (if applicable)
• Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
• Good communication and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

• one (1) year Operating Room experience preferred.
• Surgical Technology certification preferred
• acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist/LPN performs procedures, within their scope of practice, which render the safest and most effective service to the patient and surgeon.
• The Surgical Technologist anticipates the needs of the surgical team, proficiently handling and passing instruments, sutures, sponges and all other necessary sterile equipment as required.
