About The Position

HEALTHY COMMUNITIES. COMPASSIONATE CARE. Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH), located in Gravette, Arkansas, is seeking a PRN Surgical Technologist to join our Operating Room department. Our Mission: Ozarks Community Hospital and clinics are dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare and preventive services to all patients in an atmosphere of compassion, respect, and dignity, with a commitment to care for the underserved and to improve access to care. The Surgical Tech assists the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures to provide optimal patient care in the operating room. Provides surgical exposure, hemostasis, assists with suturing, stapling, and other technical skills. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Directs proper care, storage, acquisition and rotation of instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for patient care in the Department of Surgery, i.e. Surgery, PACU, Anesthesia, Special Procedures and Pain Clinic. Included within this assignment is the responsibility of ensuring effective communication between him or herself, other employees in the Department of Surgery and other hospital departments. In order to provide safe patient care and promote teamwork every employee must be flexible with their schedule which means they will occasionally be asked to work a day or shift other than what they are regularly scheduled.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire or BLS certification must be obtained during orientation period or at next available scheduled class. Throughout employment, current BLS certification must be maintained by renewal during renewal period or at next available scheduled class.

Nice To Haves

  • CST certification, preferred.
  • Previous experience as a surgical technologist is preferred.
