About The Position
Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford is seeking a Part-time Surgical Tech for their Surgical Services department. This role involves preparing operating suites, providing intraoperative support to surgeons, promoting patient safety, and maintaining a highly organized sterile field. Ascension is a leading nonprofit Catholic health system committed to reimagining healthcare.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating suites by organizing sterile and non-sterile instruments, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic technique before every procedure.
- Deliver seamless intraoperative support to surgeons by passing instruments, assisting with hemostasis, and anticipating needs in real time.
- Promote patient safety and efficiency by assisting with patient transport, proper surgical positioning, and sterile draping.
- Maintain a highly organized sterile field while executing accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts throughout the surgical process.
