About The Position

River Hospital is seeking a per diem Surgical Tech to join our Ambulatory Surgical Unit Team. A clinically competent certified surgical technician who provides immediate, specialized care with a multidisciplinary Ambulatory Surgery service provider team. Must possess basic knowledge and practical skills. The Certified Surgical Technician will work with the Registered Nurse in the care and planning of all surgical interventions in a logical sequence according to established surgeon preference sheets, scheduled procedure, and/or individual patient care needs.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program
• Valid and currently registered as a Certified Surgical Technologist
• Current BLS certification or obtained within first six months of hire
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation
• Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures
• Ability to use knowledge to individualize the plan and delivery of care
• Must possess the physical ability to perform CPR

Nice To Haves

• Preferred minimum of two years of Surgical Technician experience

Responsibilities

• Provides immediate, specialized care with a multidisciplinary Ambulatory Surgery service provider team.
• Works with the Registered Nurse in the care and planning of all surgical interventions in a logical sequence according to established surgeon preference sheets, scheduled procedure, and/or individual patient care needs.
• Complies with all of the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the particular profession.
