About The Position

The Macomb Surgery Center is a freestanding, fast-paced outpatient surgery center that is part of the Troy Beaumont Surgical Services department. The center currently performs cases in the ENT, Orthopedic, Podiatric, Plastic, and General surgery specialties, with potential growth in the future. The surgeons and patients who come to Macomb know they will receive the highest degree of quality service and care. Requirements

• High school diploma Required
• 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience
• Certification must be maintained throughout employment to maintain Senior status Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• Surgical Technologist Certified (CST) – NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) NCCT Required upon hire

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree. Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and preparing the surgical suite
• Intraoperative handling of instruments
• Maintenance of the sterile field
• Evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed
• Maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols
• Acting as a preceptor
• Engaging with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum
