About The Position

Corewell Health is offering up to $10,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! About the unit Teams 1 & 2 is a Level 1 trauma center that provides care 24/7 for both inpatients and outpatients. Specialties include Cardiovascular, Vascular, Thoracic, General, Transplant, Hepatobiliary, Bariatric, Colo-rectal and Trauma. Included are 2 hybrid ORs for TAVR and 8 DaVinci Xi robots. We are a Bariatric COE and a dissection referral center with an expanding CVS program. Our robotic program expands to several service lines including General, Urology, Gynecology, Colorectal, Bariatric, Hepatobiliary, Thoracic and ENT. The first robotic program in Michigan to hit 20,000 robotic surgeries. We pride ourselves on working together as a team to provide high quality, safe and compassionate care for our patients. Scope of work The Surgical Technologist Senior will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. Acts as a preceptor and engages with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum.

Requirements

  • High school diploma Required
  • 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience. Certification must be maintained throughout employment to maintain Senior status Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
  • Surgical Technologist Certified (CST) – NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) NCCT Required upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree. Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Preferred
