About The Position

Responsible for the planning, organizing, facilitating, and monitoring activities and functions of their service line, including coordination of instrumentation, equipment, supplies and staff for their specific service line. Evaluates current financial and inventory practices, auditing charges and statistical analysis of procedure costs. Collaborates with the Director to coordinate operational and capital budgets. Provides technical and financial support information to assist the department Director and surgical department team in performance improvement and standardization of processes. Provides Value Analysis Program support, manages business and financial projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Current Surgical Technologist Certification (CST)
  • Six (6) or more years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • 14 Days: Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Performs responsibilities of a Senior Surgical Technician as needed.
  • Assists Director in planning and developing the fiscal operational and capital budgets.
  • Collaborates with the surgical team to orient and train all new and current employees, provides feedback for performance reviews, and facilitates continuing education.
  • Oversees charge entry and negotiates equipment costs in conjunction with the purchasing department.
  • Maintains adequate par levels for all service supplies, equipment, instruments and implants.
  • Completes new product entry process in Perioperative services, including all forms and documentation.
  • Uses Value Analysis processes when new items are needed/requested Collaborates with Materials Management and Perioperative leadership when making product/stock decisions.
  • Participates in product evaluation and vendor quote requests.
  • Facilitates repair requests to ensure continuous maintenance and repair of the surgical services equipment.
  • Proactively works with physicians to minimize unnecessary use of hospital resources.
  • Attends, represents and participates in the business operational meetings as needed and requested.
  • Promotes and participates in LEAN practices and strategies.
  • Facilitates continuing education, orientation and training for new and current staff.
  • Provides ongoing communication to staff members concerning updates and changes.
  • Ensures all instruments, supplies, and equipment for service line are in good working condition.
