Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Organize the operating room with necessary sterile drapes, solutions, and both sterile and non-sterile equipment.
• Provide surgeons with specific instruments and supplies promptly during the procedure.
• Assist in the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients for surgery.
• Maintain an organized workspace and strictly monitor instrument counts to ensure safety and efficiency.
