Surgical Tech-Endoscopy - Jefferson Highway -M-F, 4-10's w/ on call

The Surgical Tech-Endoscopy assists in procedures competently and professionally, ensuring appropriate handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and guaranteeing their availability for surgical procedures. The individual also scrubs for surgical procedures and performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse (RN).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate from an accepted course in surgical technology certification
- Certification in Surgical Technology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
- Good organizational skills
- Good time management skills and ability to be self directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting
- Basic analytical experience
Responsibilities
- Assist in procedures competently and professionally
- Ensure appropriate handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies
- Ensure availability of equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
- Scrub for surgical procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by the registered nurse (RN)
- Perform direct patient care duties, including assisting physicians during procedures
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the department
- Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, equipment, training, and credentials
- Adapt to change in a positive constructive manner
- Ensure cleanliness and/disinfection of endoscopes while maintaining quality control measures
- Perform other related duties as required
- Remain knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility
- Ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
