About The Position

As a surgical support technician, you assist in facilitating patient care by working concurrently with the OR staff, anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other hospital personnel. This role involves surgical suite cleaning and troubleshooting, restocking of operating rooms and terminals, patient positioning during surgery, and assisting with the preparation and transportation of patients. You will also be responsible for acquiring surgical equipment according to surgeon preferences, assisting with the setup of operating room equipment, and assisting anesthesia providers during patient procedures. Additionally, the role includes patient transfer and movement, effective communication with all levels of clinical staff, preparing for post-surgical patient transport, and responding effectively and promptly. Surgical gas transport and setup are also key responsibilities, as is understanding surgical procedures, processes, and equipment types. Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Health-related education, experience, or certification
  • American Heart Association BLS for Health Care providers.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year Operating Room experience preferred

  • Understanding of surgical procedures and processes, along with the types of equipment used for each procedure, according to the surgeon's preferences.
