Assists surgery team with direct/indirect patient care activities including sterile procedure setup. This role involves maintaining a safe and orderly patient care environment in surgery, adhering to established policies. The associate will demonstrate competency in performing specified skills, including transporting patients and activities within a sterile environment. They will also be proficient in using specified equipment for patient care, such as cleaning and assembling instrument trays and operating autoclaves. Responsibilities include stocking OR suites, managing the blanket/fluid warmer, and running errands to support patient care. Room turnover tasks like sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and disinfection are also part of the role. The associate must respond to emergencies and disaster situations according to procedure, and continuously expand their knowledge base through learning experiences and mandatory in-services. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work are essential. Effective communication with the Registered Nurse regarding patient status is required, along with respecting patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality. Participation in performance improvement activities and providing age-specific care are also key components of this position. The role requires interaction with various Medical Center employees and the ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.
