Surgical Skilled Technologist

IU Health•Indianapolis, IN

About The Position

At Riley Hospital’s Labor and Delivery unit, Surgical Skilled Technologists support a range of procedures, including innovative fetal surgeries and non-obstetric cases. They provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures, working as part of a surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel. The unit has an on-site Sterile Processing Department for access to supplies and equipment and does not require surgical technologists to take mandatory on-call shifts. This is a full-time, day-shift role. Surgical Skilled Technologists help ensure surgical equipment, supplies, and instrumentation are present and properly arranged in the operating room before each operation. They assist the surgeon as permitted by professional and legal standards and help turn over the operating room after procedures, ensuring proper routing or processing of specimens, equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
